JACK DEVEREUX BELIEVES IN THE PROCESS OF ART BEING AS IMPORTANT AS THE WORK ITSELF.

Jack Devereux is a single line artist who draws inspiration from the later works of Picasso and Matisse, and is often influenced by hip hop and freestyle. He hopes his work is engaging with the audience and devoid of any second thought on his part. He believes in the process of art being as important as the work itself.
Devereux aims to work from his intuition; his work is quick and vulnerable to mistakes, which adds to their delicate nature. His latest work for Nikon Australia included a video recording of his process of drawing from start to finish, which lended to the artwork being dually appreciated for its performance quality.
Devereux was born in Dunedin and is currently residing in Melbourne.
